You’ll see tatoos (armadillos), boa constrictors, mango snakes, iguanas, manicous, sally painters, agoutis and squirrels in large enclosures within native forest. The tour includes two ponds containing lilies, fish, frogs and our resident caiman, Cillian. This experience gives a real flavour of the local landscape as well as its wildlife.

The forest walk and animal enclosures tour is 2 to 4 hours (tailored to suit). The tour consists of a guided walk through the forest where you’ll have the opportunity to see many of Tobago’s trees, flora and fauna as well as its beautiful birds and butterflies in their natural habitat.

Look out for trees such as mahogany, bay, royal palm, mango and silk cotton, as well as numerous butterflies including the splendid morpho and owl butterflies. You may be lucky enough to spot one of the forest’s resident black hawks as well as hummingbirds, woodpeckers and manakins.

You’ll also see the animal enclosures and caiman ponds where you’ll encounter Tobago’s most exciting creatures up close. We house endangered and rescued animals in large enclosures in the forest including tatoos (armadillos), boa constrictors, mango snakes, iguanas, manicous, sally painters, agoutis and squirrels.

You’ll also meet our friendly caiman, Cillian, who wandered into our large pond a few years ago and has stayed ever since to enjoy a daily fish supper. If you’re quiet you might just spot one or two baby caiman as well, sunbathing amongst the lillies and the fish.
